Veteran leader and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mumbai Vice-President Ravi Raja on Tuesday filed his nomination from ward number 185 for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Election 2026.

Ravi Raja is a former leader of the opposition in the BMC from the Congress and a five-time corporator from F-North Ward. In October 2024, he quit the Congress and joined the BJP after differences with the party over denial of a ticket for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections.

Raja had won the 2017 BMC Election as a Congress candidate from ward number 176, securing 3,814 votes. However, for BMC Election 2026, eight of the 10 electoral wards in F-North Ward have been reserved for women, making it impossible for him to contest from his home turf.
