Central Railway announces special trains from CSMT to Kharagpur and Asansol from April 23

Central Railway has announced two one-way special trains from CSMT to Kharagpur and Asansol to manage the summer travel rush. With multiple halts and varied coach classes, bookings are now open, offering relief to passengers during peak season demand

In view of countering increased passenger demand during the summer season, the Central Railway on Thursday, April 23, announced the operation of two one-way special trains from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Kharagpur and Asansol.

According to an official statement issued by the Central Railway, the special services from CSMT to Kaharagpur and Asansol aim to provide additional travel options for passengers during peak summer travel.

CSMT to Kharagpur to depart at 11:20 am

The first service, Train No. 01107, will run as a one-way special from CSMT to Kharagpur on April 24, 2026. The train will depart at 11:20 am and is scheduled to reach its destination at 7:10 pm the following day.

Officials further informed that the train will halt at key stations, including Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Nashik Road, Manmad, Bhusaval, Akola, Badnera, Wardha, Nagpur, Gondia, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, and Tatanagar. The train will comprise 2 AC 3-tier coaches, 12 sleeper-class coaches, 6 general second-class coaches, and 2 general second-class cum guard's brake vans.

CSMT to Asanosl train to depart at 2:30 pm

The second train (01109) will operate from CSMT to Asansol on April 25, 2026. As per the officials, the train will depart at 2:30 pm and arrive at 4:40 am on the third day. The train will stop at several major stations en route, including Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Igatpuri, Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Bhabua, Sasaram, Deoria Sadar, Anugraha Narayan Road, Gaya, Koderma, Hazaribaug Road, Parasnath, NSC Bose Jn Gomoh, Dhanbad, and Pradhankhunta Junction. The train will have 1 AC 2-tier coach, 1 AC 3-tier coach, 14 sleeper class coaches, 4 general second-class coaches, and 2 general second-class cum guard's brake vans.

Reservations are now open for both trains

Reservations for all the classes for both the special trains are now open. Tickets can be booked through regular railway reservation channels, while unreserved tickets can be purchased via the UTS system.

Central Railway officials stated that these special trains are part of ongoing efforts to ease travel congestion and ensure a comfortable journey for passengers during the busy summer period.
