Kalachowkie murder-suicide: Stabbed by ex, woman bled to death, says autopsy report

The preliminary post-mortem report in the Kalachowkie murder-suicide that took place on Friday has revealed that the victim, Manisha Yadav, died due to haemorrhage caused by multiple stab wounds, while the accused, Sonu Barai, died from shock resulting from a deep cut to his neck, police said on Saturday. A detailed analysis - including the exact number and location of stab injuries - is expected in a day or two.

According to the police, Barai attacked his estranged girlfriend, Yadav, suspecting that she was chatting with a man on Instagram. An eyewitness, Constable Kiran Suryavanshi from the Byculla Traffic Department, pulled the bleeding woman away from her attacker. He took her to hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries. Barai, who had slit his own throat, also died in hospital.
