Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Tuesday directed the Animal Husbandry Department to allocate 0.75 hectares of its 3.06-acre land in Gadhinglaj, Kolhapur, for the construction of a central administrative building. The remaining portion of the land will continue to remain under the department's control.

Pawar chaired a high-level meeting at the Vidhan Bhavan to discuss the proposed project. The meeting was attended by Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif, Animal Husbandry Minister Pankaja Munde, MLA Ashutosh Kale, Additional Chief Secretary (Planning) and Development Commissioner Dr. Rajagopal Deora, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) O.P. Gupta, Animal Husbandry Secretary Ramaswami A., Pune Divisional Commissioner Chandrakant Pulkundwar, Kolhapur District Collector Amol Yedge, and Commissioner of Animal Husbandry Dr. Praveenkumar Devre (via video conferencing), among others.

As per the restructuring of the Animal Husbandry Department, Pawar also instructed that the proposed building include dedicated floors for the offices of the Taluka Animal Husbandry Officer and the Deputy Commissioner of Dairy Development.

Currently, several key government departments in Gadhinglaj - including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Public Works Department, Water Resources, Cooperation, and Agriculture - are operating out of rented spaces. The new central administrative complex will consolidate these departments under one roof, enhancing coordination and administrative efficiency.

Pawar assured that necessary funding for the project will be provided by the government.

NCP's tour across Maharashtra soon to strengthen party: Ajit Pawar

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has said the NCP will launch a statewide tour after the legislature's monsoon session ends to strengthen the party ahead of the civic and local body polls, likely to be held later this year.

The outreach programme would begin from Nandurbar, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief said on Tuesday at an event in Mumbai.

The tour would focus on strengthening the party ahead of the local body elections and ensuring greater participation of women, youth and emerging leaders, he said.

The monsoon session of the state legislature will conclude on July 18.

Pawar also said he would devote four days in a week -- Thursday to Sunday -- exclusively to party-related works.

He assured all new entrants into the party fold would be given respect and responsibilities within the organisation.
