Marking Maharashtra Day on May 1, Amruta Fadnavis, the wife of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, on Thursday released a patriotic song titled ‘Naman Tula', paying tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, often referred to as the ‘King of the Sahyadris'.

Presented by Bhushan Kumar under the T-Series banner, the track features actor Riteish Deshmukh alongside Amruta Fadnavis. Composed by Anu Malik with lyrics by Chaitanya Kulkarni, the song blends elements of traditional Powada-style music with a contemporary sound aimed at appealing to younger audiences while retaining its cultural roots.

The music video, directed by Shakti Hasija, is set against a traditional Maharashtrian backdrop and seeks to visually capture the spirit of valour and pride associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's legacy. Amruta Fadnavis is seen in a traditional Nauvari saree designed by Nachiket Barve, while the choreography by Pawan Bob combines classical grace with more dynamic, warrior-like movements. The visuals move between sequences of dance and depictions of martial strength, reflecting themes of courage and devotion.

According to the makers, the song highlights Maharashtra's historical legacy, with references to iconic forts and the sacrifices made by the Mavlas, or Maratha soldiers, in the pursuit of Swarajya. The lyrics aim to evoke a sense of pride and gratitude, aligning with the broader sentiment associated with Maharashtra Day celebrations.

Speaking about the release, Amruta Fadnavis said, "Maharashtra Day is not just a date on the calendar; it's a feeling that lives within all of us. Through ‘Naman Tula', I wanted to express the immense pride I feel in being Maharashtrian and in belonging to a land that has been blessed by the presence of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This song is my humble way of offering gratitude - not just to him, but also to the forts that stand tall as symbols of our history and strength, and to the countless Mavlas who selflessly laid down their lives for our Swarajya."

She added that Deshmukh's presence in the video brought an added emotional layer to the project.

'Tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the Mavlas'

Deshmukh said he felt a strong emotional connection to the track.

"When I heard ‘Naman Tula' for the first time, I genuinely got goosebumps. Maharashtra Day has always been close to my heart - it feels like a reminder to bow my head and present my naman not only to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj but to every Mavla who gave everything to build and protect this land. I'm very honoured to be even a small part of something this rooted and heartfelt," he said.

The song has been released across major streaming platforms, while the music video is available on the T-Series YouTube channel.
