Maharashtra drought: Panvel civic body cancels Diwali illumination across four wards

Every year, the Pavel Municipal Corporatio arranges decorative electrical lighting at various locations across its jurisdiction during Diwali. However, with Maharashtra facing drought, the administration has decided to cancel the arrangements this year

The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has cancelled its annual Diwali decorative lighting arrangements across all four wards this year in view of the drought situation in Maharashtra.

The decision was taken during a recent meeting attended by Mayor Nitin Patil, House Leader Prakash Binedar and Municipal Commissioner Mangesh Chitale.
