Western Railway on Friday announced that it will undertake a jumbo block on the UP and DOWN Slow lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central stations on Sunday (June 7) to carry out essential maintenance work on tracks, signalling systems, and overhead equipment.

The block will remain in effect for five hours, from 10.35 am to 3.35 pm.

According to Western Railway officials, all Slow-line suburban services will be diverted to the Fast lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central during the block period to facilitate the maintenance work.

Train services to be affected

Due to the jumbo block, several UP and DOWN suburban services will remain cancelled. In addition, certain Churchgate-bound local trains will be short-terminated and reversed from Bandra and Dadar stations.

Western Railway has advised commuters to check train schedules before travelling and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

The detailed list of affected services has been made available at suburban railway stations and with station masters across the Western Railway network.

Central Railway to operate mega block on its Harbour, Main Line this weekend

Meanwhile, Central Railway on Friday said that a special midnight block on the Main Line and a mega block on the Harbour Line this weekend to carry out essential engineering and maintenance work aimed at improving safety and infrastructure.

An official statement said that the blocks will affect suburban train services on June 6-7 (Saturday-Sunday), and passengers have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly.

A special midnight block will be operated between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Vidyavihar stations on the UP and DOWN low lines from 12.05 am to 5.05 am on the intervening night of June 6-7.

During the block period, DOWN low line services departing CSMT between 11.30 pm on Saturday, June 6, and 4.47 am on Sunday, June 7, will be diverted to the DOWN ast line between CSMT and Vidyavihar, halting at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion, and Kurla stations.

Similarly, UP low line services departing Ghatkopar between 11.29 pm and 5.04 am will be diverted via the UP ast line between Vidyavihar and CSMT, with halts at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel, and Byculla.
