Central Railway on Tuesday announced a special traffic and power block between Palasdhari and Khopoli for track maintenance work, resulting in temporary disruptions to suburban train services on select days over the next two months.
The block will be undertaken every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 1.30 am to 4.30 am, beginning on the intervening night of June 17-18 (Tuesday and Wednesday).
The maintenance work is part of a Through Sleeper Renewal (TSR) programme aimed at improving railway infrastructure and ensuring operational safety.
During the three-hour midnight block, suburban train services between Palasdhari and Khopoli will remain suspended.
As a result, the Khopoli-Karjat local departing Khopoli at 12.30 am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays will remain cancelled.
Meanwhile, the CSMT-Khopoli local departing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) at 11.18 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays will be short-terminated at Karjat.

The last local train to Khopoli before the block will depart CSMT at 10.28 pm, while the last train from Khopoli before the block will leave at 11.20 pm. After the block, the first Karjat-Khopoli local will depart Karjat at 5.43 am, while the first Khopoli-CSMT local will leave Khopoli at 4.50 am.
Railway officials said the maintenance block is essential for infrastructure upkeep and passenger safety and appealed to commuters to cooperate during the temporary disruption.
The Central Railway's Mumbai Division on Monday announced that it will operate a series of special traffic and power blocks between Matunga and Kurla from June 17 to June 25 to facilitate the launching of girders on the Sion Road Over Bridge (Kalyan end) as part of the ongoing 5th and 6th line project between CSMT and Kurla.
According to the official press release, the blocks will be implemented during midnight hours only, lasting between two to four hours per session on selected dates.
The block timings include:
June 17-18: 1.10 am to 3.10 am
June 18-19: 12.45 am to 3.45 am
June 19-20 and 20-21: 1.10 am to 2.40 am
June 21-22 to 24-25: 1.10 am to 3.10 am
The affected section will be from Matunga to Kurla on all lines.
