Western Railway, while sharing Mumbai local train updates, on Friday said that it will undertake a major night block at Marine Lines station during the intervening night of May 30 and 31, officials said.
They said that the block will be undertaken for the launching of Foot Over Bridge (FOB) girders using a road crane.
According to an official Western Railway statement, the block will affect all railway lines at Marine Lines station between 1:15 am and 4:15 am. Due to the work, several suburban train services will remain cancelled or partially cancelled.
Western Railway said that a few late-night suburban trains heading towards Churchgate will terminate at Mumbai Central instead, the statement said.
The affected trains are:
- Train No. BO91014 from Borivali to Churchgate
- Train No. VR91018 from Virar to Churchgate
- Train No. BO91020 from Borivali to Churchgate
- Train No. VR91024 from Virar to Churchgate
The trains will run only up to Mumbai Central station and will remain cancelled between Mumbai Central and Churchgate.
The officials said that two early morning services that usually start from Churchgate will now originate from Mumbai Central station.
These include:
- Train No. VR90011
- Train No. BO90015
Both services will remain cancelled between Churchgate and Mumbai Central, officials said.
Western Railway also announced the details of the last and first suburban services operating to and from Churchgate during the block period, officials said.
The last train from Virar to Churchgate will be Train No. VR91012, departing Virar at 11:30 pm and arriving at Churchgate at 1:10 am.
The first scheduled fast train from Churchgate will be Train No. VR90021, departing at 4:40 am.
The first scheduled slow train from Churchgate will be Train No. BO90025, departing at 4:46 am.
Western Railway said that there will be no block during daytime hours on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
"Passengers travelling late at night or early in the morning have been advised to check train schedules before starting their journey" Western Railway said.
