Meanwhile, devotees heading out to celebrate Ganeshotsav 2026 will have more time to visit pandals and return home as the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has extended services on the Aqua Line (Metro Line 3) until midnight during the festive period.
According to the officials, the extended services will be available from September 14 to September 25, providing devotees with additional travel time during the celebrations.
At present, the last trains from both terminal stations - Cuffe Parade and Aarey JVLR - depart at 10.30pm. Under the revised schedule, services will continue until midnight, giving passengers an additional 90 minutes to travel.
The Aqua Line passes through several areas that attract large crowds during Ganeshotsav 2026, including Siddhivinayak, Dadar, Worli, Mahalaxmi and Girgaon, officials said.
The extended Metro Line 3 operating hours are expected to provide Lord Ganesha devotees with an alternative to road transport and help them avoid traffic congestion during the festival, they said.
