A massive fire broke out at a bamboo godown in Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai, on Thursday, March 26, triggering panic in the surrounding area. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
According to initial reports, the blaze spread rapidly due to the highly combustible bamboo stored inside the warehouse. At least five fire tenders were rushed to the spot, and firefighting operations are currently underway on a war footing.
The situation remains critical as several residential buildings are located close to the godown, raising fears of the fire spreading further. Fire officials are making all-out efforts to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from affecting nearby structures.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported so far. However, the godown is believed to have been completely gutted, and significant material losses are expected.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as firefighting efforts continue.
