28-year-old Rishab Gangurde
A live music concert in Worli took a tragic turn in the early hours of Sunday after two attendees fell severely ill and were rushed to hospitals in what police described as two isolated incidents, with no larger crisis reported.
One attendee, 28-year-old Rishab Gangurde, was declared dead upon arrival at Breach Candy Hospital, while the other, a 31-year-old woman, was stabilised and is currently recovering at Jaslok Hospital. The woman had travelled to Mumbai specifically to attend the event.
The deceased, a resident of Mahim, was later referred from Breach Candy Hospital to Nair Hospital for a post-mortem examination. His mortal remains were subsequently handed over to the family for the last rites later in the day.
According to police officials, contrary to several rumours surrounding the cause of death, the preliminary investigation has found no evidence of drugs being available at the venue.

The venue, NSCI Dome Worli, had permission to serve alcohol in designated areas. "The venue had all the required permissions relevant for the event from our end," stated a police officer from Tardeo.
Tardeo Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the matter and are continuing their investigation into the suspected cause of death. "There is no evidence of the cause of death being related to alcohol. We are not even sure the man had consumed alcohol that night. The woman shared that she had consumed alcohol and energy drinks before falling ill. Clarity on the cause of the death of the man will come once the detailed reports are in," said a police officer. Police are also examining CCTV footage from inside the venue, along with other electronic evidence, as part of the ongoing investigation.
