The Taloja police have solved a murder case within 48 hours by arresting the prime accused after an intensive interstate manhunt. The police relied on CCTV analysis, technical surveillance, and local intelligence to nab the accused from Valsad in Gujarat. According to police, the incident took place on July 14 at a transport workshop in Nitlas village, Taloja, where an old rivalry between transport workers allegedly turned fatal.
Police said that in the early hours of July 14, an argument broke out between transport driver Chandan Kapilmuni Pandey and Rameshkumar Swaminath Yadav over an earlier dispute. Following the argument, Yadav allegedly attacked Pandey on the head with a blunt object, leaving him critically injured. Pandey later succumbed to his injuries. A murder case was registered following a complaint lodged by workshop security guard Mohammad Alam Hanif Khan.
Multiple police teams were formed under the guidance of senior police officers. Investigators scanned CCTV footage, analysed technical evidence, and questioned witnesses. The breakthrough came when police traced Yadav to Valsad railway station in Gujarat and apprehended him within 48 hours of the crime on July 16. He was produced before the Panvel court, which remanded him in police custody until July 28.
