A bomb threat email sent to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) in Gandhinagar on Wednesday triggered a major security response across Gujarat, prompting police and intelligence agencies to launch an extensive investigation, reported the IANS.
The officials said that similar threatening emails were also received by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) headquarters and a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office, raising concerns about a possible coordinated attempt to create panic.
According to officials, the email sent to the Chief Minister's Office warned of a bomb blast at 1.11 pm.
Subsequently, similar messages were received by the AMC headquarters at Danapith in Ahmedabad and the RSS office, with the sender allegedly specifying 3.11 pm and 5.11 pm respectively as the times of the purported explosions.
The emails reportedly contained references to "Khalistan", "Operation Blue Star" and "Operation Woodrose", adding to the seriousness of the matter, the news agency reported.
Following the threats, police personnel, bomb detection and disposal squads, and dog squads were immediately deployed to the affected locations.
Security was tightened at government offices, public institutions and other sensitive sites across Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar as a precautionary measure.
The AMC headquarters was evacuated while security personnel conducted thorough searches of the premises and surrounding areas. Similar checks were carried out at other important locations identified by authorities.

Officials said technical surveillance is being used to trace the email accounts, IP addresses and digital footprints linked to the threats.
Investigators are also examining whether the messages were sent as part of a coordinated operation involving multiple individuals.
State Minister Pravin Mali confirmed that an inquiry was launched immediately after the threatening email reached the Chief Minister's Office, as per the IANS.
"Many such emails have been received. This appears to be the handiwork of certain people acting in collusion," he said.
Referring to the possible motive behind the threats, Mali added that "some people cannot tolerate peace".
Officials noted that several government offices and institutions have received similar threat emails in the past, many of which were later found to be hoaxes.
Nevertheless, authorities stressed that every threat is being treated seriously and investigated thoroughly.
Citizens have been urged not to spread rumours and to immediately inform the police about any suspicious objects or activities.
