Dipke says CJP won't contest polls, slams PM over NEET paper leak row

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday said his party had no immediate plans to enter electoral politics and criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for failing to engage with students amid the NEET-UG controversy. reported PTI.

Dipke held a press conference here ahead of the CJP's protest in the city seeking the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Asked whether the CJP would contest elections, Dipke said, "Why should we contest elections? I mean, if everyone in this country has to contest elections to demand their rights, how will it work?"

When asked whether the prime minister should address the country's youth and assure them that paper leaks would not happen again, Dipke stated that PM Modi should first apologise to the parents of the five or six students who allegedly died by suicide in the aftermath of the controversy surrounding the NEET (UG) examination, reported PTI.

"Pradhan Mantri ji tweets if anything happens anywhere in the world, but here, students of this country are dying by suicide, and there is not even a condolence tweet from the prime minister. How long will you talk about your 'Mann Ki Baat' and 'Pariksha Pe Charcha'? At least listen to the students' Mann Ki Baat," Dipke said.

If the prime minister interacted with students, he would be able to understand their problems and find solutions, the CJP founder added.

He reiterated that the CJP's nationwide protest would not stop until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.

Abhijeet Dipke alleges RSS-linked individuals behind Jaipur attack

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday alleged that individuals associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were behind the attack on him during a protest in Jaipur, claiming the incident was aimed at diverting attention from student-related issues and suppressing dissenting voices, reported PTI.

Dipke made the remarks after arriving at Nagpur airport ahead of a planned protest at Samvidhan Square, where his organisation is demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister over the paper leak controversy.

The activist was reportedly assaulted during a demonstration in Jaipur on Monday when two men allegedly slapped him while he was being carried by supporters. Police have detained two individuals in connection with the incident and are investigating the matter.
