The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has said it is prepared to hold talks with the government to resolve the ongoing protest over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, reported the PTI.
However, the organisation said any discussions should take place at Jantar Mantar or another neutral venue rather than at the residence of a Union minister.
Speaking at a press briefing at the protest site, CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das said police informed the group on Wednesday morning that Union Minister JP Nadda had invited its representatives to his residence for discussions, the news agency reported.
Das said the invitation was declined, adding that ministers should meet protesters where the public gathering is taking place.
He said the movement remained open to discussions and would also accept a neutral venue close to Jantar Mantar if security concerns prevented a meeting at the protest site, according to the PTI.
Das said the CJP was interested in meaningful dialogue rather than discussions without outcomes.
He added that the government's intention should be to resolve the issues raised by protesters and address their demands without unnecessary delay.
According to Das, thousands of people continue to participate in the protest at Jantar Mantar, as per the PTI.
The organisation repeated its main demands, including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged examination irregularities.
It also called for compensation of Rs 1 crore for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide following the NEET paper leak controversy.
In addition, the CJP demanded the withdrawal of all FIRs filed against peaceful protesters and sought a government guarantee that no fresh been held in several cities, including Mumbai, Goa and Jaipur, describing the campaign as an "organic" nationwide movement criminal cases or punitive action would be taken against those participating in the movement.

The CJP-led agitation began on June 20, demanding accountability over alleged examination irregularities, reforms to the education system and the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan.
Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who joined the protest on June 28 and has been on an indefinite hunger strike, has said he is willing to end his fast if the government assures that peaceful protesters will not face punitive action and takes steps to address the movement's key demands.
