Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has renewed his demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alleging that repeated irregularities in national examinations have adversely affected the future of millions of students, reported the PTI.
Addressing a press conference in Pune on Wednesday, Dipke claimed that students across the country had suffered due to issues linked to examinations such as NEET, CBSE and CUET. He said the youth were no longer willing to remain silent on matters affecting their education and careers.
Dipke asserted that young people were prepared to raise their voices against what he described as systemic failures in the examination process.
"One thing has now been proved. The youth of this country will not be scared anymore and will not back down," he said, while referring to concerns surrounding the conduct of competitive examinations, according to the PTI.
He also alleged that several student suicides had been linked to examination-related issues and stressed the need for accountability.
The CJP leader said his organisation had already demanded Pradhan's immediate resignation during a protest held at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on June 6.
According to Dipke, the party has given the minister until June 13 to step down. If the resignation does not materialise, the organisation plans to launch a nationwide agitation, as per the PTI.
"Someone has to take responsibility. Students who could have gone on to become doctors and save lives have lost their own lives because of the failure of the system," he said.
Dipke announced that the next phase of the campaign would begin with a peaceful demonstration in Pune on Thursday.
He said similar protests would subsequently be organised in several cities, including Lucknow, Amritsar, Jaipur and Bengaluru.
The CJP founder urged the government to accept what he termed "moral responsibility" for alleged shortcomings in the examination system.
Escalating his warning, Dipke said students and young people from across the country would gather in New Delhi on June 20 if the education minister remained in office.
Dipke stated that he would personally participate in the protest and appealed to supporters nationwide to join the movement.
"If Dharmendra Pradhan does not resign, students and youth from across the country will come to Delhi and will not return until his resignation is secured," he said, the news agency reported.
During the press conference, Dipke criticised the handling of major examinations, alleging that paper leaks and technical failures had become recurring problems.
"Paper leaks are taking place, servers are going down, and students are suffering. Who will take responsibility for this, and how long will this continue?" he asked, the news agency reported.
The CJP has been campaigning on issues related to examination transparency and accountability.
