Mahesh, the landlord's son arrested in connection with the Delhi building collapse, will be produced before the Patiala House Court on Wednesday after his police custody ends.
The court had remanded him to two days of police custody on Monday.
According to IANS, police said that during questioning, Mahesh told interrogators that he used to manage the maintenance of the building in South Delhi's Satya Niketan on behalf of his parents, owner Urmila, 75, and her retired husband, Hariram, 81.
The couple had leased the building to the PG operator 'Hostel Daze' in August 2025.
Meanwhile, Urmila and Hariram were sent to 14 days of judicial custody on Tuesday.
Additionally, a labour contractor who was overseeing repair work in the basement of the ill-fated PG building was arrested by Delhi Police in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, an official said on Tuesday.
Labour contractor Sanoj was apprehended in Kasganj and is being brought to Delhi for questioning, police said.
Initial questioning of Sanoj revealed that on the day of the Delhi building collapse, repair work was underway in the basement as waste had been accumulating there during the rainy season for the past eight to 10 days, police said.
The police added that repair work was also being carried out on the ground floor to extend the premises for commercial purposes.
The five-storey building, known as 'Hostel Daze', was operating as a boys' PG, with several students staying there when the incident occurred around 1:30 pm on Sunday.
Seven people were killed in the collapse, police said.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Tuesday that the civic agency will demolish a dilapidated building next to the site of the ill-fated paying guest (PG) building that collapsed in Satya Niketan, killing seven people two days ago.
The Chief Minister's Office (CMO), in a post on social media platform X on Tuesday, said that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) had been directed to demolish the dilapidated building adjoining the accident site in the interest of public safety.
The demolition order comes against the backdrop of the suspension of five civic officials responsible for checking illegal construction in the colony, which is located close to Delhi University's South Campus in Dhaula Kuan.
