The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has withdrawn its August 3 notification on the second round of NEET Super Speciality (NEET-SS) 2025 counselling following a Delhi High Court order allowing petitioner candidates to re-register and participate in the admission process.

The decision comes after the Delhi High Court directed the committee to provide eligible petitioners another opportunity to register for Round 2 of the counselling.

Delhi High Court order prompts MCC action

In an official notice, the MCC said it was withdrawing the August 3 notification with immediate effect in compliance with the Delhi High Court's August 5 order in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 11097/2026, Sunil and Another vs Medical Counselling Committee

The court permitted the petitioner candidates to re-register and take part in the second round of NEET-SS 2025 counselling.

The committee stated that the competent authority decided to revise the counselling process after taking into account the court's observations and concerns.

Revised counselling schedule announced

Along with withdrawing the earlier notification, the MCC has issued a fresh counselling schedule for Round 2.

According to the revised timetable, the resignation portal will remain open for all candidates until 4 pm on August 7, allowing eligible applicants to withdraw if they choose to do so.

Fresh registration and choice filling for the second round will reopen from 10 am on August 9. Candidates have been advised to refer to the revised schedule available on the official MCC website for complete details.

Registration window reopened

The committee said reopening the registration process would ensure that candidates covered under the Delhi High Court's order receive an opportunity to participate in the counselling process.

The revised schedule is expected to provide equal opportunity to eligible aspirants while ensuring that the admission process proceeds in accordance with the court's directions.

The development follows judicial intervention in the NEET-SS 2025 counselling process, prompting the MCC to modify its earlier notification and reopen the registration window for the second round of admissions.
