Rizwan Flies going to the moon? Boy, that sounds like a fun expedition already! You'd imagine adventure (pint-sized, of course), intrigue and drama. Except that there's too little of that, and the film drags its feet for far too long. In the end, what could have been a unique tale with real bite leaves you feeling shortchanged for lack of any real plot.
Nat is a Florida fly completely bored of his surroundings. Fuelled by his grandfather's story of how he saved the day when he flew into the nose of Amelia Earheart to awaken her even as she fell asleep at the wheel of her groundbreaking flight across the Atlantic Ocean, Nat convinces his friends -- geeky I.Q. and fat Scooter to get on board the Apollo 11 mission to the moon.

From then on, except for some laughs at the expense of Nat's anxious, prone-to-fainting mother, a sidetrack about Grandpa's Russian girlfriend Nadia and an evil plot by Russian flies (would any movie about American achievements be complete without this mandatory detail?) to foil the trio's pathbreaking expedition, there isn't much to the story.
While the plot may be wafer-thin, the inclusion of glasses to watch the film in 3D on your TV made it a lot more exciting, enough to give this DVD one whole star. What the film lacks in humour and story, it sort of makes up for in some stunning visuals, from the surface of the moon to the breathtaking attention to detail devoted to the separation and re-docking of the lunar module of the spacecraft. No Monsters Inc this, but definitely worth a watch, at least for the 3D bits.
