The Maharashtra Government has extended the deadline for completing the e-KYC (know your customer) process under the âMukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana' to December 31, Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare announced on Monday.
The earlier deadline, set for Tuesday, November 18, has been extended in view of the large-scale e-KYC process currently underway and the difficulties faced by women in several districts amid the recent natural calamities.
Tatkare said the decision was taken under the guidance of Chief Minister (CM) Devendra Fadnavis and his deputies Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.
She noted that many families have suffered significant losses in the recent disasters. In some cases, women are unable to receive OTPs needed for Aadhaar verification due to the death of their husbands or fathers, whose mobile numbers are linked to the Aadhaar card. Extending the deadline, she said, was necessary to prevent incomplete e-KYC applications.
The state government has clarified that eligible women whose husbands or fathers are no longer alive, as well as divorced women, must complete their e-KYC and submit a valid death certificate, divorce decree or a court order as applicable.
Tatkare said the extension aims to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of the scheme due to technical issues or unavoidable circumstances. She urged all beneficiaries to complete the e-KYC process within the extended timeline.
