The Latur district administration in Maharashtra has banned flying of drones till the intervening night of April 30-May 1 and also imposed traffic regulations on several roads ahead of PM Modi's rally on April 30, an official said on Sunday, reported the PTI.

These curbs are in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Lok Sabha elections 2024 rally in Birle Farm in Latur on April 30, the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Latur district in charge Kiran Patil told the PTI.

"The order to ban drones from till midnight of April 30-May 1 has been ordered by Collector Varsha Thakur-Ghuge. She has also imposed curbs on heavy vehicles between 12 noon and 5pm on April 30 on several roads," a district official said, as per the PTI.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Kiran Patil said that the PM Modi's rally will begin at 12:30 pm and will be attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar.

BJP's sitting MP Sudhakar Shrangare is pitted against Congress' Shivaji Kalge in Maharashtra's Latur.

Voting will take place on May 7, while results will be declared on June 4.

PM Modi to address rally in Pune on April 29: Chandrakant Patil

Meanwhile, PM Modi will address a Lok Sabha elections 2024 rally in Maharashtra's Pune on April 29, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Chandrakant Patil said on Friday, reported the PTI.

The ruling alliance comprising the BJP, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)on Friday held a meeting to review preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Lok Sabha poll rally in Pune on April 29, according to the PTI.

A massive crowd of two lakh people will attend the rally to hear the PM's speech, senior Maharashtra BJP leader Chandrakant Patil said, as per the PTI.

Chandrakant Patil, who is state higher and technical education minister, attended the meeting along with Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, Rahul Kul and Vijay Shivtare, the news agency reported.

"PM Narendra Modi will hold a rally in Maharashtra's Pune on April 29 at Race Course. We are expecting 2 lakh people for the rally. Party functionaries from Pune, Maval, Baramati, Shirur will be present on April 29. We held a meeting today to review preparations," he said, reported the PTI.

"PM Modi will stay at Raj Bhavan in Pune on April 29. There are no plans about the PM's roadshow. MNS chief Raj Thackeray's son Amit Thackeray will also attend the rally," Chandrakant Patil said.
