In a tragic accident on Sunday afternoon, four people were killed when their car collided with a truck on a highway in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district, police informed on Monday.

The victims were on their way to Ashthi from Charmoshi when their car collided with a truck while making a U-turn, an official stated, reported news agency PTI.
The victims, Rajendra Naitam (45), Vinod Katve (45), Sunil Wairagade (55) and Anil Satpute (55), were all residents of Gadchiroli district, the officials stated, reported PTI.

The official informed that three occupants of the car died on the spot, while one succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
According to the police statement, five individuals were killed and two sustained injuries after their speeding car fell onto a dry riverbed in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district in the early hours of Monday, reported news agency PTI.
The Ratnagiri accident occurred near Khed around 5.45 am, when the vehicle first hit the divider and fell into the dry river bed of the Jagbudi River, an official said, reported news agency PTI.
The official stated that the car was heading towards Devrukh town from Nallasopara in Palghar district.
Three women and two men were killed, while two people were injured, the official informed, reported news agency PTI.
The official said the deceased were identified as Mitali Vivek More (43), Megha Paradkar (22), Saurabh Paradkar (22), Nihar More (19) and Shreyas Sawant (23), reported news agency PTI.
As per an official, Police from the Khed police station rushed to the spot, and a rescue operation was conducted.
As the river was dry, the vehicle crashed into boulders, killing some of the occupants on the spot, he said, adding that the injured were undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ratnagiri, reported PTI.
A case is being registered at Khed police station, and further probe is underway, the official informed, reported news agency PTI.
