Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty surged in early trade on Thursday after two days of decline, mirroring a rally in Asian markets amid positive developments on the US tariffs front. Also, foreign fund inflows drove equity markets higher. The 30-share BSE benchmark gauge Sensex jumped 504.57 points to 81,816.89 in early trade. The NSE Nifty climbed 137.25 points to 24,889.70.
The menace of dating app scams is back and is once again casting a dark shadow over Mumbai's nightlife. In a series of alarming incidents, five young men have alleged they were duped by an organised racket operating out of a lounge located on Link Road in Malad West, opposite Infiniti Mall. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday gave his nod to the Dharavi Redevelopment Project (DRPL) master plan that aims to change one of Asia's largest slums into a modern, sustainable neighbourhood. The plan was presented to Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and senior IAS officials during a high-level meeting held at the Maharashtra government's Sahyadri Guest House at Malabar Hill.
