The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline till June 22, 2026 for NEET-UG 2026 candidates to submit their bank account details for refund of examination fees.
In an official notice, the agency said, "In order to facilitate candidates who are yet to submit their bank account details, NTA has decided to extend the facility for submission of bank account details till 22 June 2026."
The facility will remain open till 11:50 pm on June 22, the NTA confirmed.
This decision comes after the NTA earlier announced that no fee would be charged for the fresh examination and that fees already paid would be refunded to candidates following cancellation of the NEET-UG paper due to allegations of paper leak.
To process refunds, the NTA had earlier opened a window from May 22 to May 26 for students to submit their bank account details on the NEET (UG)-2026 registration portal.
The agency said on X that around 13 lakh candidates have already updated their bank details. Nearly 23 lakh students had registered for the examination.
The NTA added that candidates may also upload a cancelled cheque if they wish, to ensure accuracy of bank information.
The agency has also clarified that once submitted, the bank details cannot be changed. "Once the bank account details are submitted, the same shall be treated as final and no further modification shall be permitted thereafter," the NTA stated in it's official document.
Candidates can log in using their credentials on the official portal and access the refund link to complete the process.
The NEET-UG 2026 exam will be conducted afresh on June 21, 2026, after being cancelled due to alleged irregularities.
The NEET-UG 2026 exam, conducted on May 3, was cancelled on May 12 after allegations of a paper leak. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently probing the matter.
Following the cancellation, the NTA announced that no fee would be charged for the fresh examination and that already paid fees would be refunded to candidates.
