During his interrogation, he claimed he had some ‘sensational documents and photographs’ that will clear everything, but will share them at an appropriate time

New Delhi: Mikhail Bora, who holds many clues to the Sheena Bora murder case that has gripped India, routinely fumbled during his over three-hour interrogation in Assam.

After the interrogation Mikhail said he was scared to visit Mumbai alone. "I can go to Mumbai only if the Assam government ensures that two nurses take care of my (ailing) grandparents here," he said. Pic/PTI

Reports reaching here said Mikhail claimed he had some "sensational documents and photographs" that would "split the case wide open and clear everything," but said he would share those documents and photographs at an appropriate time.

A former employee of Lufthansa, Mikhail - said sources - repeatedly said he knew why Sheena was murdered and he would reveal it after August 31 if Indrani did not volunteer to tell the truth. He said the "truth lies in the home of the Mukherjeas," but refused to elaborate.

Sources said they were unable to get an answer from Mikhail as to why he was silent despite his sister being missing for a little over three years. Sheena sent to asylum? "He said he had evidence that his sister - for a brief period - was set to a mental asylum by Indrani but did not substantiate the claim," the sources said in a telephonic interview.

Mikhail said he was worried if he tried reaching out to Sheena, his family scandal would be out in the open. He was informed about Sheena's presence in a mental asylum by a friend of her's.

While Mikhail told the interrogators that Sheena's friend tried her best to get her out of the mental asylum, the friend could not find out the exact address of that rehab home.

Forced to sign papers
The sources said Mikhail told them that he and Sheena were forced to sign documents by Indrani, insisting that the two would not call her mother, but sister. Only thereafter, Indrani agreed to bear the upbringing costs of Sheena and Mikhail.

But the cash inflow stopped last September, when Indrani visited Guwahati to meet her ailing parents and expressed displeasure at the way Mikhail was handling their treatment. Indrani even suggested an old age home run by Tina Ambani in Mumbai for her parents, a move vociferously rejected by Mikhail.

Mikhail told the cops that they need to immediately confiscate the handset of Rahul Mukerjea and check details of text messages sent to Sheena two days after she was murdered. Mikhail also wanted the cops to find who was the person who carried ‘a resignation letter signed by Sheena' to her office.

Once the interrogation was over, Mikhail told reporters that he feared for his life and that his mother - though in police custody - could cause irreparable damage to his life and career. "I do not know. I may be the next target of my mother. She is very powerful and she can do anything she wants," Mikhail was quoted as saying by IANS.
