Gunman kills tourist, injures 13 at Mexico’s Teotihuacan pyramids

A shooting at Mexico’s Teotihuacan pyramids left a Canadian tourist dead and at least 13 people injured. Authorities said the gunman opened fire at the site before dying by suicide. Police recovered weapons from the scene, and several victims remain hospitalised with gunshot injuries

A shooting at the historic Teotihuacan pyramids has left a Canadian tourist dead and multiple others injured on Monday (local time).

Mexican authorities said the incident occurred at the popular archaeological site when a man opened fire, killing a Canadian woman before taking his own life.

Officials recovered a firearm, a bladed weapon, and live ammunition from the scene. At least 13 people were injured in the attack, with eight remaining hospitalised. Several victims sustained gunshot wounds.
