Researchers at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST) recently showcased humanoids capable of pushing objects weighing up to 35 kg while walking independently, and lifting loads up to 20 kg, relying entirely on onboard perception rather than external motion-capture cameras.

This capability roughly doubles previous benchmarks established by other institutions. By utilising custom-designed hardware frameworks and onboard sensing, these bipedal units can manage loads comparable to what a human warehouse worker might push on a utility cart.
