Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted India's growing appeal as a global investment and innovation destination, saying the country's growth is driven by talent, scale, stability, and reforms, news agency IANS reported.
Addressing investors and venture capital leaders at Bharat Innovates 2026 in Nice, France, PM Modi said India offers immense opportunities across innovation, technology, manufacturing and emerging sectors, and invited the world to co-create the next chapter of global innovation with India.
"The conversations at Bharat Innovates 2026 in Nice were enriching and insightful. Engaged with investors and venture capital leaders on the immense opportunities India offers across innovation, technology, manufacturing and emerging sectors," PM Modi wrote on social media platform X.
"India's growth is powered by talent, scale, stability and reform, making it an attractive destination for investment and innovation," PM Modi noted.
Meanwhile, addressing the gathering at Bharat Innovates 2026, he said the current decade is defined by both disruption and development.
"The world is witnessing unprecedented challenges due to conflicts and the growing impact of climate change, but these challenges are also creating significant opportunities for innovation and progress," noted PM Modi.
He identified artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology, space technologies, and advanced materials as key technologies that will shape humanity's future.
Describing them as the next chapter of human civilisation, PM Modi said every technological revolution brings new opportunities as well as new responsibilities.
"The world today is looking for technologies that are trusted, inclusive, human-centric and focused on global good," PM Modi stated.
He said India's priority is "technology for humanity" and human-centric innovation, which has remained the foundation of the country's digital revolution and digital public infrastructure.
Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday held a bilateral meeting after the launch of the 'Bharat Innovates 2026' at Nice, France.
Both leaders also shared a warm and candid moment at the iconic Villa Kerylos on the French Riviera in Nice, reflecting the strength of India-France ties. The two leaders were seen sharing a warm embrace.
Built in the ancient Greek Revival style in the early 1900s by French architect Emmanuel Pontremoli, the villa has been listed since 1966 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.
Ahead of the bilateral meeting, PM Modi along with Macron inaugurated 'Bharat Innovates 2026' at the Palais des Expositions in Nice. The event highlighted India-France cooperation in innovation and technology while positioning India as an emerging global hub for deep-tech development.
The three-day event brings together Indian deep-tech start-ups, innovators, researchers and investors with global innovation funds and industry leaders. The exhibition features 120 cutting-edge start-ups and more than 20 Institutes of Excellence across 13 critical technology sectors, while attracting over 350 leading investors and venture capitalists from around the world.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi thanked President Macron for his presence and described India and France as steadfast partners committed to addressing global challenges, news agency ANI reported. He highlighted key bilateral initiatives, including the International Solar Alliance, cooperation in artificial intelligence, and efforts to promote stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region.
PM Modi noted that the event was being held during the India-France Year of Innovation and described Bharat Innovates as another milestone in the shared commitment of the two countries to work for global good.
