The Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) star opening batsman Ayush Mhatre has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2026.
Earlier, he sustained a left hamstring injury during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 18.
The Chennai-based franchise shared a post on its official social media handle, in which it is mentioned that his injury will take a period of six to twelve weeks to recover.
The news comes ahead of Chennai's all-important clash against fierce rivals, the Mumbai Indians (MI). Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team is all set to lock horns with the "Paltan" on April 23 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It will be interesting to see who steps up from Chennai's dugout to fill Mhatre's place ahead of the Mumbai clash.

On the other hand, the "Paltan" is placed in the seventh position with two wins and four defeats. The Hardik Pandya-led team also has a net run rate (NRR) of +0.067 and four points.
