The Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set to lock horns with the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 match on Friday at the Maharaja Singh PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh.
Ahead of the match, the fans will keep a tab on RR's in-form opening batsman Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The left-handed batsman spoke about the team's approach and is also hopeful of clinching the title.
"We are looking to go in with a good mindset and positive intent and continue doing what the whole team has done throughout the tournament. We should continue to enjoy the game, which we always do, not take the pressure of a big match, and back our strengths," he said on JioStar.
"As a team and as a unit, we want to reach the finals and hopefully lift the trophy," added Sooryavanshi.
Currently, Sooryavanshi is the leading run-scorer in the ongoing edition of the cash-rich league. So far in 15 matches, he has accumulated 680 runs with an average of 45.33. In his previous outing against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the left-handed batsman scored 97 runs off just 29 deliveries, laced with five boundaries and 12 maximums.
The winning team from today's match will seal a berth in the final of the IPL 2026. The title clash of the marquee event is scheduled to be played against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
