The Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of the BCCI has banned players and match officials from wearing or possessing smart sunglasses during the ongoing IPL season. The decision stems from concerns over the high-tech features embedded in these devices, which allow live streaming, video calling, and data transmission via mobile networks or Wi-Fi.
In an official advisory circulated to all franchises, the cricket board highlighted that several tech companies have been actively promoting and selling these advanced glasses to cricketers and support staff.
