Viswanathan Anand trampled his ex-challenger Veselin Topalov of Bulgaria in the third round to find himself at the joint second spot in the Norway Chess 2013 super tournament.

Sergey Karjakin of Russia scored his third consecutive win beating Wang Hao of China to lead the table with three points. Anand and Levon Aronian follow him, a full point behind.

Anand made sure he put his best foot forward in a crunch situation. u00a0He played the white side of a Najdorf Sicilian and opted with the English attack to come up with innovative ideas, to which Topalov had no answers.
