The victory brought India its seventh gold of the Games, pushing the overall medal tally to 53. While the triumph added Jyothi's fourth Asian Games gold to her illustrious career, it marked a dream debut Asian Games gold for both Chikitha and Prithika.
India dominated from the off by opening with three consecutive 10s against China's 27-point start. Though China repeatedly tried to bridge the gap across rounds, the Indian trio held their nerve, increasing their advantage before sealing the victory with a perfect final sequence of perfect 10s.
