World No. 6 American tennis ace Ben Shelton, 23, and star USA women's team footballer Trinity Rodman, 24, have quickly become sports's newest power couple since they publicly announced their relationship in March 2025.
The fun-loving pair is often seen supporting each other during their respective tournaments while also posting plenty of romantic pictures together on social media. In a recent episode of the Not Gonna Lie podcast, Rodman revealed how a simple, flirty text from her kick-started the relationship.
"It's really embarrassing. I just slid into his DMs, and said âYou're sick,' with a fire emoji. That's it. But it worked. He replied within 10 minutes and said, âYou were sick at the Olympics too.' So he matched the cringe situation, and then a week or two later we met in person," Rodman, who has played 57 games for the USA and was part of their 2024 gold medal-winning Olympics squad, said with a laugh.
She went on to add: "[In my head] I fully committed to this guy even before we met. He then stayed at my house for the weekend. It's actually crazy, but it worked out."
