The post mortem and the panchnama conducted into Ravi Subramanian’s death have revealed grusome details. While experts said that only his torso was found intact, police officials who conducted the panchnama at the accident spot have said that sweepers at the airport had to collect Subramanian’s mutilated remains, which were scattered over a 165 ft radius from the aircraft.
The officials added that the small parts of the body were scattered in the radius of 165 feet of the aircraft, which were collected by the sweeper staff and tied together in a white cloth

Subramanian’s remains were sent to Cooper Hospital’s post mortem centre for forensic analysis. The cause of death has been revealed as hemorrhagic shock due to crush injuries. Subramanian’s family was able to recognise his face only post the reconstruction. His bones have been preserved as part of the medico legal procedure.
Speaking to mid-day, a forensic expert said that the death took place due to the massive crush injuries, which completely shattered Subramanian’s body. “Only the trunk (torso) of the body was intact. The body was completely mutilated, with no lower or upper extremities. Though we have preserved the bones for DNA analysis and identity confirmation, the cause of death is due to the accidental injuries,” said the expert.
Subramanian’s family members, who were waiting at the post mortem centre, co-operated patiently with the police officials to complete the procedures and left at around 1.30pm after all the formalities were completed. Krishna, Subramanian’s son, identified the body and took it in an ambulance to their Sanpada residence.
Panchnama says
According to the panchnama, the aircraft, which was facing south, had its cooling systems on when the police officials reached the spot.
Officials said that the right engine was covered with blood on the inside and beneath it was Subramanian’s mutilated body.
“When we checked the body, only half of the head was visible. The right hand and his legs were completely severed, and the left hand was broken from the wrist,” said an official who was present at the spot.
The body was lying 16 feet from the right tier of the aircraft, and there was a 17-foot tow bar, lying near the tier.
