Manipur to be recreated in Darjeeling for Mary Kom biopic
The makers of the upcoming Priyanka Chopra starrer will recreate Manipur in Darjeeling for the shoot
The next schedule of the upcoming Mary Kom biopic starring Priyanka Chopra will be shot in Darjeeling. The makers will pass off the West Bengal hillstation as Manipur where a special set will be recreated.
A crew member says, “We are going to shoot for a week in Manipur and then the unit shifts to Darjeeling. We chose to recreate Manipur elsewhere as we wanted a picturesque backdrop which the region does not have.’
Director Omung Kumar says, “Earlier we shot in Manali, but the next schedule is in February-March. It would be snowing there. Therefore, we are planning to shift it to a village near Darjeeling.”
