Mumbai doctor booked for allegedly raping patient

The Khar police have booked a 38- year- old doctor for allegedly raping his 26- yearold patient who had come for a check- up at his clinic

A resident of Dadar accused doctor Rustam Sonavala, who runs a clinic in Khar. The patient’s relatives told SUNDAY MiD DAY that after registering an FIR, the police arrested Sonavala from Dadar but released him after taking a bribe Rs 10 lakh.
The relatives, who belong to a political party, have threatened to carry out a strike against the police.
