Speaking to mid-day, P S Rahangdale, chief fire officer, said, "We received a call around 4 pm on Thursday. The team managed to reach the spot by 4.18 pm. The man was rescued in no time. Officials of the 108 ambulance and Tata Power were also present at the spot for the rescue operation." Sources said that after being rescued, Mendha was handed over to the local police. The cops recovered a letter from him that allegedly mentioned that on May 16, 2014, and May 19, 2016, he was brutally assaulted by Mahesh Mutreja and Naveen Raisigani, which left him bleeding from the mouth. However, he had approached the RCF police after both the incidents, but they refused to take his complaint and instead sent him to the Shatabdi Hospital.
