Rumour mills have it that Nargis Fakhri is being considered to play Sangeeta Bijlani in an upcoming biopic on former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin. The film, which will be helmed by Anthony D'Souza, has Emraan Hashmi essaying the protagonist's role with Prachi Desai cast as his first wife, Naureen.

Says a source, "The producers have already had a meeting with Nargis and the modalities are being worked out. As she is slated to travel for the promotions of her Hollywood film 'Spy', things will be finalised only on her return."

Adds the source, "Nargis began her career with modelling just like Bijlani, so the makers feel she lends herself to the glamorous role."

Ever since the Azhar biopic was announced, there has been constant speculation about who will play his second wife. Initially, there was buzz that Kareena Kapoor would be seen as Bijli.

Later, the names of Jacqueline Fernandez and Kriti Sanon did the rounds. Sources had even suggested that producer Ekta Kapoor was keen that the 49-year-old Bijlani herself play the role. Nargis and the makers were unavailable for comment.
