Sahara's Aamby Valley City is planning a regular non-scheduled flights between Aamby Valley City and Pune. All they need is clearance from the Airport Authority of India.

Unresolved issues
Seemanto Roy, head, Aamby Valley City, said, "After introducing flights between Aamby Valley City and Mumbai, our plan is to start similar services to Pune and Surat. Our problem with Pune is that the city airport is located at the Lohegaon IAF base. The Landing schedules of commercial flights are scheduled at specific timings. Once this hitch is cleared, we will start operations," he added. The company on February 5 announced six regular weekly non-scheduled flights between Aamby Valley City and Mumbai.

Robust sector
Roy said Pune figures high on his list because of its robust manufacturing sector. "We want to give Pune a world -class infrastructure for building industries that are non-emitting,' Roy said.

Pune Airport Director Deepak Shastri said he had not received any proposal from Aamby Valley authorities. "I have not received a proposal, so I cannot comment," said Shastri.

Wait and watch
Additional Director General of Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCIIA) Anant Sardeshmukh said, "The idea seems interesting but we have to wait and watch to see how useful it will be to the people of Pune.
