Two years ago, Sonam Kapoor delivered what could inarguably be her best cinematic performance. It appears, the actor is aware that few of her outings have been as impactful as that in Neerja, which saw her play Neerja Bhanot, late purser of the ill-fated PAN AM flight that was hijacked in September 1986.

The bravery of Bhanot, who lost her life while rescuing passengers, continues to inspire the actor. "Even today, the heroism and bravery of Neerja Bhanot continues to move me. It was an honour to play her and pay homage to her indelible memory," she tweeted to mark the film’s anniversary. Neerja even won Kapoor a Special Mention at the 64th National Film Awards.
