Indian jazz musician and guitarist Pritesh Walia has been released on bond after spending 14 days in the custody of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Walia, who was detained after returning to Los Angeles earlier this month, announced his release in an emotional video message, describing his time in detention as one of the most difficult experiences of his life. His immigration case, however, is still ongoing.

Pritesh Walia finally released on bond after 14 days

Walia was taken into ICE custody on August 2 after returning to Los Angeles and was later transferred to the Adelanto ICE Processing Center in California. At the time of his detention, his personal belongings, including his phone, were taken away. His family, friends and legal team subsequently worked to secure his release.
