A video of the hearing inside the courtroom was shared by Bar and Bench. In the video, senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, who is representing Karisma Kapoor’s children, can be heard saying, “Don’t shout at me" to Rajiv Nayar, the senior advocate representing Priya Kapur, after the latter snapped at him, saying, “Don’t interrupt me".

In the 21-second video shared on the social media platform, the two lawyers can be seen accusing each other of interrupting one another while presenting their respective arguments. Just when advocate Jethmalani was saying, "Just because…", advocate Nayar says, "Please don’t interrupt me. I am not used to interruptions."

Jethmalani replies, "You should get a taste of your own medicine then. And don’t shout at me. Please don’t shout at me." Nayar says, "You interrupted me." Jethmalani can be heard saying, "Do not shout at me. Have some courtesy to the council. If you shout, you will get paid back in coin."

Karisma Kapoor's lawyer clarifies her stance

Earlier, senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, representing Karisma and her children, had rejected Priya Sachdev’s claim that the kids had been allotted Rs 1900 crore. The advocate noted, “If the estate is Rs. 30,000 crore and they are only getting Rs. 1900 crore… actually, there are only five class one heirs – mother, 3 children and Priya – why is she not disclosing a will, if it’s genuine. The children are not getting whatever they are getting at the mercy of Mrs Kapur. These are assets of Sunjay Kapur; nobody is doing us a favour. Is Priya Sachdev going to forsake the remaining Rs. 28,000 crore that goes to her? What kind of rubbish is this? We are trying to fight for the children’s rightful inheritance.”

Further clarifying Karisma’s stance, Jethmalani argued, “Karisma Kapoor doesn’t want anything for herself, the entire aim of this litigation is to secure her children in the manner in which her late ex-husband wanted them to be secure, which is as per a trust deed, which dealt with his assets in India, his corporate assets in India, and by and large his assets abroad, for which there was a will, which was never disclosed and neither has been a subject matter of probate, nor is it registered.”
