Hollywood movies are currently ruling the big screens, with two massive IP films showing in cinema halls across the world. Tom Cruise has graced theaters with Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the eighth and final film in the franchise that began over two decades ago. The film, which rode on massive buzz before its release, managed to attract audiences to cinema halls and is still going strong as it approaches ten days in the country. However, it turns out the experience has turned bitter for an internet user who has spoken out about a delayed show and an arrogant response from one of the top theatre in Mumbai.

Moviegoers faces trouble during Mission: Impossible show

The Twitter user shared their ordeal of booking tickets for a late-night show of Mission: Impossible: The Final Reckoning at Inox R-City in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. The movie did not start for 40 minutes past the scheduled time (10:50 p.m.), and the staff kept saying it would start in the next five minutes. Things became even worse when, at 11:30, the theatre management informed them that they could not play the movie due to technical reasons and asked them to request refunds from the websites where they had booked the tickets.

The user wrote, “Around 11:30 (for a 10:50 show), they came and said we can't play the movie due to some technical issues with the movie KDM (reel). When probed, it was clear that the issue was not with the movie, but they didn't have any operator to run the projection, as even advertisements were not played, which have a separate KDM. There were oldies, couples with babies, and around 50 people waiting for 40–45 minutes in front of a dead screen.”

Explaining the ordeal further, the user added, “The manager simply came and asked people to go home and ask for a refund from the booking website. Some people requested to cancel their popcorn orders, but he rudely said that you can take your popcorn and carry it home. This triggered people, and they started asking for a refund on the spot. One old aunty who came from far got really furious at the stupid and arrogant manager. Recommend avoiding Inox R-City for any movie plans.”

About Mission: Impossible

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is directed by Christopher McQuarrie and was one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Tom Cruise’s last outing as Ethan Hunt was highly awaited. The film even had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, where the team, along with Tom Cruise, walked the red carpet. They made headlines for breaking the rules by clicking a selfie on the red carpet.
