Weddings are a grand affair in India. The festivities usually last for 2-5 days, depending on traditions, rituals and means to do so. Celebrities, especially from the field of entertainment, are known to host lavish and grand weddings. Here we look at some South Indian stars who had expensive weddings:&nbsp;
Jr NTR and Lakshmi:
Actor <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/entertainment/bollywood-news/article/war-2-meets-brahmastra-hrithik-roshan-jr-ntr-alia-bhatt-and-ranbir-kapoor-enjoy-dinner-outing-together-23346642" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Junior </a>is one of the most loved and popular superstars of the Telugu film industry. He married Lakshmi Rao, daughter of famous businessman Mr Narne Srinivas Rao. They had a lavish and expensive wedding back in 2011. Reportedly, their wedding cost nearly Rs 100 crore. According to a report in New Indian Express, Lakshmi's saree alone cost Rs 1 crore. &nbsp;The daily further stated that the mandap for the nuptials was set up for a price of Rs 18 crore, with 300 workers completing the project.
Allu Arjun-Sneha:
Telugu superstar <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/entertainment/regional-indian-cinema-news/article/pushpa-2-the-rules-first-single-out-allu-arjun-prepares-to-roar-with-track-pushpa-pushpa-23347070" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Allu Arjun</a> and Sneha also had quite an expensive and grand wedding ceremony. The couple who met at a common friend's wedding in the USA tied the knot in 2011. According to reports, the couple splurged Rs 90 crore on their wedding. Celebrity photographer Joseph Radhik, who photographed the beautiful moments of the wedding, told Wedding Sutra, "The wedding had more than 40 photographers and we were capturing the candid and behind-the-scenes moments only.&rdquo; The event, he said, brought Hyderabad to a standstill.&nbsp;
Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi:
After having pre-wedding festivities in Hyderabad, the couple had a grand wedding in Italy. Their destination wedding cost them around Rs 17 crore despite inviting only 100 people. Lavanya's wedding saree alone cost Rs 10 lakh. The wedding venue was a resort named Borgo San Felice in a picturesque village located in Tuscany, and the resort has a capacity of 29 suites and 31 rooms. The cost of the venue varies from Rs 40,000 to Rs 1 lakh per room.
Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan:
The couple dated for a long time and married in 2022 in Mahabalipuram. They had a grand and exquisite wedding which was attended by celebs like Shah Rukh Khan and Rajinikanth. However, according to reports, the couple did not incur any expense on the wedding as they had given the digital rights of the wedding to Netflix. Reportedly, the expense was taken care of by Netflix and the couple also earned Rs 25 crore through the deal.&nbsp;
Ram Charan and Upasana:
Ram Charan, son of actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, married his childhood friend and girlfriend Upasana Kamineni in a grand ceremony. Celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor were in attendance. People from the world of politics were also in attendance. The couple spent a huge sum on the wedding. Their wedding invite alone cost Rs 1200 each.
