The dazzling three-day Karnataka Fashion Week 2014 was held at the Bowring Institute in Bangalore. It was inaugurated by RV Deshpande, the tourism minister of Karnataka. Designers like Karan Raj, Asif Shah, Jason and Anshu, Runa Ray, Karan Bhattacharya, Lokesh Ahuja, Yashila and Sonali took part in the event.

Designer Karan Raj&rsquo;s bridal wear collection - Aagaz, which means &lsquo;a beginning&rsquo; in Urdu, had a royal feel. It was an elegant collection with a Mughal touch to it. Karan said that he played with a lot of colours in his collection as they reflected the joys of life and India is known for its bright colours.

The entire collection is a handmade one with intricate designs. Karan was happy with the response for his collections and is looking forward to more shows ahead.
Designer Asif Shah&rsquo;s vibrant Indo-Western collection of Indian wear was inspired by the carvings on Bhopal&rsquo;s palaces. The red carpet collection is an intersting one with tuxedos and power suits. The showstopper for designer Asif Shah was the good-looking Waahiid Ali Khan. He was wearing a tuxedo that resembled ones sported by the members of the Italian mafia. Entrepreneur Waahiid Ali Khan is the CMD of Sshaaun Group of Companies. He has won many awards at the national and international level for his contribution to the fashion industry.

Prasad Bidapa had organised this high profile fashion show supported by the Karnataka Government. The theme on the third day was &lsquo;pret-a-porter&rsquo; and guests came dressed as &lsquo;Global Bangalorean&rsquo;, the dress code for the evening. The venue was packed to the hilt with guests. &nbsp;
