When it comes to working out, Nikhil Dwivedi never cheats. Here's a sneak peek into the secrets of his fitness regime: Gym gyaan I like to keep myself fit. I believe that if you can look good without clothes in front of the mirror, you are fit. <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2010/mar/Nikhil1.jpg" border="5" /> One should be athletic. If you can climb 10 floors without collapsing, then you can definitely call yourself fit. Working out the details I go to the gym every day. It's the one thing that I can never cheat on. I spend around an hour to an hour-and-a-half working out. I was never into cardio exercises. But I had to gain weight for my role in Ravan, my waist had become 32. And so I had to take up cardio to reduce it. I run on the treadmill a lot; for about half-an-hour every day. Then I do weight training for about 45 minutes to one hour. I do abs and crunches about thrice a week. Daily diet My day starts with dry fruits like badaam and anjeer, which are a must along with green tea. Breakfast is usually egg whites, protein shake and fruits. I follow it up with a protein supplement or a meal replacement in about two hours. My lunch is pretty traditional -- one chapati, dal, salads and chicken. And I never skip dinner. My mantra is to eat what you can burn. If you can eat 10 chapatis and burn them out, eat as many as you want. But don't eat blindly. Know your body type and eat accordingly. Outside the gym I started learning martial arts about a year ago. But I had to quit, because I was very busy. So I got back to the conventional weight training. I was doing kick-boxing and Taekwondo too. I used to do it thrice a week for around 45 minutes to an hour. I really admire all the Hrithilk Roshans and Salmans of the world, who despite their work, are still into regular fitness. I wonder how they do it when they start shooting. I just want to look very athletic. If there is a requirement to take my shirt off, then I shouldn't be embarrassed.
