It is known that the makers of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (BMCM) are looking to up the entertainment quotient of the Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer. Director Ali Abbas Zafar has reportedly done a recce to shoot the film in the UK, the Alps, and Saudi Arabia. With plans afoot to roll cameras in January 2023, the makers are in the process of locking the rest of the cast. We hear that Janhvi Kapoor has been finalised as Tiger’s leading lady. Like his previous directorial ventures, BMCM, too, has ample scope for the heroines with larger-than-life characters. As for Akshay’s leading lady, sources tell us that an A-lister will be confirmed by this month-end. Given the high stakes of the film, the cast, production values and execution will be top-notch to lure in the audiences to the cinemas. Ali has maintained that despite the same title, his buddy entertainer has nothing to do with David Dhawan’s 1998 comic caper. However, there is a twist in his movie that pays a tribute to the Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda starrer.
New entrant in sequel

mid-day had reported that a sequel to Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey’s Haseen Dillruba (2021) is in the works (‘Felt empowered to write a more risque story’, October 3). Going by some pictures that Taapsee shared online recently, it looks like Sunny Kaushal is the new entrant in the second instalment. Vicky Kaushal’s actor-brother also joined the Haseen Dillruba team — filmmaker Aanand L Rai, writers and producers, Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon, Taapsee, Vikrant, director Jayprad Desai and producer Bhushan Kumar for a get-together on Monday evening. Sharing the pictures, Kanika wrote, “About last night! And all I can say — it was Haseen! #haseendillruba (sic).
Change of plans
Chatter in Chennai is that Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth are reconsidering their divorce plans. Apparently, Dhanush and Aishwarya met at her father Rajinikanth’s home recently, where their families convinced the two to sort out their marital issues. While there’s no official statement from either, sources claim that they have mutually agreed to give another shot to their 18-year marriage. The couple, who have two children, Yatra Raja and Linga Raja, had announced their separation in January.

It appears that Madhuri Dixit-Nene and her family have become comfortable in Blu, Worli’s plush residential complex, where they rented a swanky pad for about three years. So much so that the Maja Ma actor has purchased a sprawling apartment on the 53rd floor of the plush central Mumbai property. Madhuri, who reportedly registered the agreement last week, is said to have paid a whopping R48 crore for the expansive apartment measuring about 5,384 sq ft. It comes with seven parking lots. The Fame Game actor will continue staying in her leased pad on the 29th floor till her new home is ready for the family to move in.
Baby shower for Alia
There couldn’t have been a more auspicious day than Dussehra for Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who are expecting their first child. The mom-to-be had a baby shower last afternoon. The Kapoors and the Bhatts were spotted driving in to Vastu in Pali Hill, Bandra, where the couple also tied the knot in April. Anushka Ranjan, one of the Alia’s best friends, shared a picture of the group, in which the mom-to-be glowed in a yellow anarkali. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni also shared family images from the ceremony.

Nora Fatehi will represent India on the FIFA World Cup 2022 stage. FIFA has decided not to have a single anthem like in the past, when they were helmed by the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. Instead the football body will have many official songs. Nora’s pacy number will be produced by an influential record producer who had also worked on Shakira’s Waka Waka. Nora will sing in Hindi and perform at the World Cup closing ceremony. While details of her act are being kept under wraps, Nora is thrilled to put on a spectacular display that showcases her prowess as a performing artiste.
Eijaz, Pavitra engaged
Eijaz Khan and Pavitra Punia, who bonded as participants in Bigg Boss 14, have got engaged. Sharing grainy and soft-lit pictures from the special moment on Monday, when he proposed to her, Eijaz wrote, “Baby, if we keep waiting for the right time, it’s never gonna be. I promise you my best. Will you marry me? She said, ‘Yes’. (sic)” Pavitra commented, “May the lord protect us from evil eye. Let there be love, love and love.” Interestingly, Eijaz moved into Pavitra’s home in Malad earlier this year.
