In the wee hours of Friday, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif took off for the shoot of the third outing of the Tiger franchise. They colour coordinated in black and obliged the paparazzi with their poses at Mumbai airport. Though producers Yash Raj Films prefer to be tightlipped, it is said that they will be shooting in Russia. Kat and Sallu are expected to be away for two months. Looks like that’s what Sallu was trying to tell the paps, or was it a victory sign? With Sallu, you can never tell. He was stopped while entering the terminal for a security check by the CISF personnel. Kat preferred her characteristic hand wave, and there was no rock on her finger from a certain Mr K. Just saying.

Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s son Ibrahim is assisting Karan Johar on Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. There had been speculation and now it’s official. He shared a picture from the set wearing a T-shirt that read: Team Rani. Sohail and Seema Khan’s son Nirvan has accompanied uncle Salman Khan for the Tiger 3 shoot. He will also be learning the ropes as an assistant on the set of the action thriller. Acting or directing? That choice will be made later by the star kids.
What ails Junior Bachchan?

Abhishek Bachchan was spotted at Kalina airport on Friday evening with his arm in a sling. He seems to have also hurt his fingers as they were bandaged. Junior B came to drop wife Aishwarya Rai, who was leaving for Orchha in Madhya Pradesh for the next shoot schedule of Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film, Ponniyin Selvan. Daughter Aaradhya accompanied Ash. Junior B is said to have begun work on the Hindi adaptation of the Tamil thriller, Oththa Seruppu Size 7 (2019), in Chennai a few days ago. Did Bachchan injure himself on the set and return to Mumbai?
Everything’s open but not theatres!
As cinema halls continue to remain shut in Mumbai, Varun Dhawan expressed his unhappiness by sharing a video of one of the city’s busy thoroughfares and wrote, “Everything’s open but theatres remain shut.” Dhawan’s last outing, Coolie No 1, skipped a theatrical release and dropped digitally last December.
The love story unfolds
On Friday, Karan Johar kicked off the shoot of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring Ranveer Singh and protégé Alia Bhatt. “The day is finally here and I have so many feelings going on in my head but what emerges at the top is gratitude. As we begin our first schedule, seeking all your pyaar and aashirvaad,” the filmmaker wrote. The love story marks KJo’s return to direction after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). It also features Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.

Shriya Saran and husband Andrei Koscheev are looking for a new address in Bandra. The actor, who relocated to Barcelona after her hush-hush marriage to the Russian entrepreneur in 2018, is back and keen to begin anew. Though SS Rajamouli prefers to keep things under wraps, she is said to be playing Ajay Devgn’s wife in the multilingual period drama. A new address will also spell a new inning in Bollywood.
Scripting a troubled story
Randeep Hooda finds himself embroiled in a legal tussle for ‘threatening’ writer Priya Sharma, who has allegedly accused him and his staff of dishonouring their commitments.Sharma claims the actor was keen to collaborate with her and took scripts and songs written by her in the last 15 years, but things did not take off. Now, when she asked Hooda to return the scripts, his ‘frightening behaviour’ forced her to take action against him. Sharma has slapped a legal notice and is seeking compensation of R10 crore. She has reportedly also complained to the cops in Hooda’s home state, Haryana, demanding a public apology from him.
Backaches and burps
Neha Dhupia loves dubbing as it provides an opportunity to an actor “to recreate so much” but being in the studios while pregnant is proving to be a tough proposition for her. The actor, who is expecting baby number two, has begun work on the thriller, Sanak. “Dubbing for an action film in your third trimester is a different ball game. I had no idea when I was shooting that I would be coming back to dub some bits in this state. Somewhere between the breathlessness, the backache and the burps, the only way out was to sit and get through, as opposed to always standing,” Dhupia wrote about her dilemma.

Madhuri Dixit-Nene is rooting for Bigg Boss OTT contestant Karan Nath. She gave her “best wishes” via a social media post. It’s not exactly a surprise considering their old connection. Karan’s producer father Rakesh Nath, better known as Rikku, is Dixit’s former manager. He single-handedly looked after her career till she made her comeback post her marriage to Shriram Nene. Later, she dumped him amid chatter of a fallout. In 2016, Mads attended Rikku’s daughter Shaina’s wedding and in 2020, she was the chief guest at the trailer launch of Karan’s film, Guns of Banaras. All is well between them now.
